Feedback EU is an environmental organization dedicated to transforming the food system in Europe and fostering positive change for a healthier planet. Founded in April 2022, it expands upon the work of its predecessor, Feedback Global, established in the UK in 2013. Feedback EU engages with EU food policy, civil society coalitions, and key stakeholders, including supermarkets and livestock companies, to promote sustainable practices. The organization aims to address the significant environmental impacts of food production, such as food waste, habitat destruction, and resource depletion, advocating for a food system that is nutritious and environmentally responsible. Their approach combines campaigning, advocacy, citizen engagement, and pilot programs to demonstrate alternative sustainable methods within the food economy. Operating under the formal structure of Stichting Feedback EU, the organization has received ANBI status, allowing it to focus resources on its charitable objectives without generating profit. Financial operations are overseen by a board, and day-to-day management is led by Frank Mechielsen. Feedback Global is the primary funder, supporting Feedback EU’s initiatives and enabling its outreach and alliances with European partners. Feedback EU also aims to secure funding from various sources, including foundations, government agencies, and public fundraising efforts, as it works towards an impactful and sustainable food system across Europe.
